Mechanism Reduction

Shrink a detailed kinetic mechanism to a skeletal Cantera YAML with pyMARS (DRGEP, DRG, or PFA, plus optional sensitivity analysis) while holding ignition delay and laminar flame speed within an error limit of the detailed model.
Estimated minimum cost: $—

Examples

Detailed mechanism

The detailed mechanism to reduce: a bundled Cantera data file, a Cantera YAML, or a single-file Chemkin mechanism with its thermodynamic data inline (for example RMG's chem.inp). Up to 1000 species.

Reduction settings

Target species anchor the graph search (usually the fuel and oxidizer). Retained species are always kept; fuel, oxidizer, and reactant species are kept automatically. Separate names with commas.

Target conditions

The reduced mechanism must reproduce the detailed mechanism's ignition delay and flame speed at these states. Compositions use Cantera syntax (CH4:1, O2:2). At least one case is required.

Ignition delay targets

Homogeneous autoignition cases. Up to 20.

Ignition 1

Flame speed targets

Freely propagating premixed flames at the unburned-gas state. Each costs about four ignition cases. Up to 5.
